3HMONGTV NEWS (02/22/2023) – Chonburi Lee is the second person of Hmong descent to win Maplewood City Council seat. Tou Xiong, now Senator Tou Xiong, is the first to win this seat back in 2016. More than 300 people attended the event at Hmong House in North St. Paul on February 18 to celebrate Chonburi’s victory as the second Hmong person elected to the Maplewood City Council. Keynote speaker for the evening is former Senator Mee Moua, the first Hmong person to be elected to the Minnesota Senate.
