VALUE OUR FAMILIES
AAOP Launches a Public Education Week On Family-Based Immigration
Though the Administration disparages family-based immigration as “chain migration”, family reunification is the bedrock of the immigration system. AAOP is proactively engaging with the Asian American Pacific Islander community during a week of action to show that our aunts, uncles, parents, children and siblings are not “chains” – they are family.
WHAT: AAOP will host a telepress conference to detail the importance of the family based immigration system and to announce the public education week’s successes.
WHO: Isabela Alesna, AAOP Organizing Fellow; Rep. Fue Lee, District 59A (North Minneapolis); Julia Decker, Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota Attorney; Linda Her, AAOP Executive Director
