3HMONGTV NEWS (09/22/2020) – Grand opening of the Frogtown Community Center and General Vang Pao athletic fieds in St. Paul draws elected officials and community leaders together to celebrate the completion of a $9M project which started two years ago. Council member Dai Thao encourages everyone to come and utilize the fields for sports such as tekraw and soccer. Toua Xiong, owner of Hmongtown Market Place says there are many athletic fields in the Twin Cities but this one is unique. The fields provide alternatives for a variety of sports for the Asian community. Mayor Melvin Carter says having named the fields after Hmong General Vang Pao is something powerful and it means lot to Hmong boys and girls. Everyone is encouraged to stop by the center and check it out.
