3HMONGTV NEWS (11/18/2020) – The Board of Trustees of United Hmong Family, Inc. holds a press release announcing the cancellation of the annual MN Hmong New Year celebration and the Hmong International Freedom events which draw thousands of spectators every year. As COVID cases surge in Minnesota, President of UHF Joe Vang tells 3HMONGTV he’s glad state officials decided to cancel all major events including the Hmong New Year celebration. The Hmong New Year celebration had always been held at the St. Paul RiverCentre during Thanksgiving weekend since it was established. Mee Vang, Chair of the New Year event thanks the Hmong community, sponsors, and vendors for their continued support and hopes that the Hmong New Year celebration will return next year. Col.
