DPS Media Availability: Charges Filed in Alleged Distracted Driving Fatality on Hwy. 36

MN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFTEY (03/01/18) – “Enough is enough”, those are the words expressed by MN State Patrol Chief Matt Langer at a news conference this after about the fatal crash in Lake Elmo that killed an innocent man as he was driving home from work. Robert Bursik died at the scene. The accident occurred on February 27 at the intersection of Lake Elmo Avenue and Hwy 36.  Samuel Hicks rear-ended Mr. Bursik’s car while texting. The State Patrol says this horrific accident is so preventable.  The message to everyone is DO NOT TEXT while behind the wheel.
