3HMONGTV NEWS (08/15/2018) – Last night, history was made when a number of Hmong American candidates won the primary which puts them in the General Election ballot on November 6. This year there are five Hmong American candidates running for the MN House of Representatives, one for County Commissioner, and two are running for Ramsey County judges. They are Cindy Yang, Samantha Vang, Tou Xiong, Jay Xiong and Rep. Fue Lee who is running for re-election. Blong Yang is a Minneapolis City Council member and he’s running for County Commissioner. And of course, Adam Yang and Paul Yang both are running for Ramsey County judges. Even though Cindy Yang did not win the primary, she ran a great campaign. If they win in November, this would be the first time in history with the most number of candidates of Hmong descent elected to office in one year.
